Malone Rugby Club – Belfast

Specialist Fencing Contracts were invited to tender for a project at Malone Rugby Club in Belfast. The job consisted of the supply and fit of ball stop nets, and putting a ball stop net along the side of the training pitch. After being awarded the tender we got on site and started work.

Specialist Fencing Contracts arrived on site the club Chairperson and Secretary met and decided that they wanted the whole end of the pitches closed off. We quickly adjusted our plans and designed a ball stop which would better fit their needs.

It is a complicated site! A ball stop net which is 7m high for 16m, rises to 12m high for 50m, back down to 7m for 30m back up to 12m high for another 50m the back down to 7m high for 15m. Then it turned to join on to the 6m high net that was to run alongside of training pitch, for 103m. Every pitch and site is different and this job proves that no problem is too big to be overcome. We are happy to work with our clients to make sure they get the very best for their project.

The steps in the netting ensured that the pitches were fully enclosed and act as protection to the nearby houses.

When on site we always try and keep the ground damage to a minimum. The client still wanted to be able to use the pitch during our work schedule and we were happy to oblige, keeping the pitches in tip top condition.

The Ball stop was designed to meet the clients specification.

Specialist Fencing Contracts used 150 x 150 x 3mm braided netting which blends into the area, so not to cause an eyesore to those who live near the Belfast pitches.

Hydebank Pitches – Lisburn and Castlereagh Council

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council got in touch with us here at Specialist Fencing Contracts about the design and fit of a Baseball roof net for a baseball diamond. We tendered for the job and were delighted to be chosen for this unique task. There aren’t many baseball diamonds in Ireland and we are very excited to have been involved in this project!

Hydebank Pitches – Lisburn and Castlereagh Council

The Baseball Roof net was needed at Hydebank Pitches and they needed the netting to be 3m high- 4m high.

When we started to work onsite we were also asked to supply and fit a backstop fencing system which we were delighted to do. We also adapted to changes which the council wanted to make in the middle of the project. We extended the front post and backstop fencing to make it higher. It ended up being 6m high!

This is just another example of how we at Specialist Fencing Contracts work hard and always endeavour to give the client exactly what they need.

The council then asked as us to install a handrail for spectator at the back of the diamond.
